Goatacorn Goes to Japan!

Privacy policy for the app · Effective September 30, 2026

This page covers Goatacorn Goes to Japan! for iPhone and iPad, published by independent developer Richard Nelson under the studio name Blondee Games. The game and Phrasebook work offline. There are no accounts, ads, in-app purchases or subscriptions.

This policy is for the Japanese app. The games and pages on goatacorn.com have their own website privacy policy. The Japanese app has no leaderboard, server connection, shared web save or website analytics.

The short version

What the app saves on your device

The app uses its own private storage in Library/Application Support to save:

The progress file has one rolling local backup. The session log is capped at 2,000 entries, with older entries removed as new ones arrive. A few hint preferences are also kept in the device's app preferences. Phrasebook searches run on the device and are not sent to us.

What the app sends anywhere

The app does not upload progress, answers or the session log. It has no account service, advertising service, analytics service or automatic crash-reporting service. It does not use an advertising identifier or track you across apps or websites.

Settings → About has links to this privacy policy and to Help and support. Tapping one opens Safari or your chosen default browser. Loading a web page is separate from playing the app and is covered by the website's policy.

Sharing the session log is your choice

A hidden Tester section in Settings includes Share session log. It opens the iOS share sheet only when you tap it. You choose whether to share the file and where it goes. There is no automatic upload and no preset recipient. A service you choose in the share sheet may send the file over the internet.

If you email us or choose to send us a log, we receive the message and any attachment you send. Playing the game does not send them.

Japanese speech

The Japanese word audio is bundled with the app. These text-to-speech clips were made with ElevenLabs before release. The app does not contact ElevenLabs or send it your words or activity. If no bundled clip can play, the app uses Apple's on-device Japanese voice when available. It does not record your voice or use the microphone.

Resetting and deleting data

Settings → Reset progress asks you to confirm before clearing learning progress, stamps, stars, sprinkles, Shop characters, outfits, power-ups and the session log on this device. Your settings and Phrasebook pocket stay.

Deleting the app removes all of its saved data from the device, including settings and the pocket. Copies you have shared and existing device backups are separate.

Device backups

iOS may include app data in your iCloud Backup or a device backup on your computer, depending on your backup settings. This is Apple's backup service, under Apple's policies, not a backup or sync service run by Blondee Games.

Children and permissions

The same privacy protections apply to children and adults. There is no sign-in, chat or leaderboard. The app does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photo library or notifications.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
